Ephraim Vause

Ephraim Vause, born abt 1718 married Theodocia Hulling (b. 1722 in Burlington, NJ), July 11, 1738 at the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. It is supposed that Ephraims forebearers were among the German Palatines from the banks of the Rhine and the Neckar, who entered the colonies through Delaware Bay in the early 1700's. In 1746 Ephraim had patented land in Augusta County on the Virginia Frontier. His name first appears in the Augusta County Deed Books in Jan 1746 when he received a grant of 200 Acres . The site of Old Fort Vause known today in Shawsville, Montgomery County, Virginia.
